Now the fun stuff About Gocco!
The large format B5HM Kit is widely used by artists to produce limited edition serigraphs. These signed and numbered prints make a great product when matted and framed. Two key features leading to its appeal are the basic capability of all Print Gocco products to print many colors simultaneously and the print register system of the B5HM Kit. Using three, four, five or more masters, high quality prints can be produced with the artist controlling every aspect from design to production. With a wide selection of mixable ink colors, including a recently announced line of watercolor-like ink colors, the artist is given exceptional creative liberty in producing the desired effect.

Professional Quality Printing

The Creative World of Print Gocco
Though small in size and low priced, Riso's Print Gocco Kit is no toy. The Print Gocco will produce professional quality printing that in some ways will out-perform your local printer. Consider the following:
Exciting Color. There are over thirty ink colors for paper including solid tones, fluorescent, metallic, pastel, watercolor-like and pearl-ized An additional seven colors are available for fabric printing. Using a unique blocking system to keep colors separated, you can print two, five, ten or more colors at the same time. Additionally, several ink application techniques can be employed to enhance the print - marbling, pointillism, rainbow pattern and gradation.
World of Applications. Either by itself or used in conjunction with one of its accessories, the Print Gocco lets you create colorful designs and lettering on paper, card stock, fabric, wood, three dimensional objects and on large or small surfaces. You can even use the imaged master to etch designs on glass. Print your own personalized greeting cards, invitations, T-shirts, wrapping paper, party napkins, stationery (including envelopes), business cards and more.
Personalization Couldn't Be Easier. It's easy and getting easier for you to compose your own personalized material. Dozens of design books known as clip art are available to help you create just the right effect. And with more and more people having access to a personal home computer equipped with a wide range of type styles and graphics packages, it's a simple matter to sit down at the keyboard and fully construct a professional looking original suitable for printing. Select your paper, take out your Gocco printer and you're only minutes away from producing your own personalized, colorful stationery.
"Kitchen Table" Convenient
There's nothing complicated about the Print Gocco. In fact, in Japan, where the Gocco originated, over one-third of the households own and use a Gocco Printer. There are essentially three steps to follow:
You will first need an original. The original could be made up of hand drawn lettering and graphics or it could be constructed using clip art, output from a computer printer or something you might have photocopied.
A master is then prepared on the Gocco Printer using flash bulbs similar to those used in camera flash units years ago. With the original in contact with the Print Gocco master, the heat from the flash bulbs is amplified (increased) wherever there is an image on the original causing tiny openings to occur in the master.
The master is uniquely constructed in such a way as to allow you to "sandwich" a layer of ink between the imaged master and a transparent plastic film. The initial supply of ink is sufficient to print 80 to 100 copies (or more) before you would have to add more ink to continue printing additional copies. A thin piece of foam material could be placed between each ink color permitting many colors to be printed at the same time. Positioned back in the Gocco printer, you simply place the card stock or paper on a platform and lower the inked-up master into contact, apply some light pressure and "voila!", you have a beautiful, high detail color print of your original.
Several accessories are available that add to the capability of the smaller format Print Gocco. One, a Stamp Kit, allows you to mount the inked-up master on a tacky pad equipped with a handle so that you can move it (the master) away from the Gocco Kit to print on fabric, wood and other surfaces. Another, the Screen Kit PG, provides a large format master (5 3/4" x 8") that uses screen printing ink and a squeegee to print on T-shirts, for example.
An imaged master is capable of printing thousands of copies. If it's your stationery and you have finished the job, simply remove the ink from the master and save it until the next time you need more prints. You might even change the ink to match another paper color.
The Print Gocco Kit comes equipped with everything you need to get started, including such consumables as ink, masters and bulbs. Other available items include card drying holders, embossing powders, writing/drawing instruments, master cleaner and some additional helpful supplies. There are also several instructional videos covering operation, inking techniques, Stamp Kit use, etc.
The popular low end model illustrated herein will print a 3 9/16" x 5 9/16" image on virtually any size paper or card stock. A larger format Print Gocco model is also available. Capable of producing a high resolution image approximately 6" x 8 3/4" in size, the unit is favored by professional artists to print limited edition serigraphs.
Available in the Americas for a number of years, the value of having a Print Gocco in the home is increasing with the proliferation of home based computers. Where access to type styles was once the province of a Typographer, dozens of choices are found within available computer software packages. Having a party? Today, you could be just minutes away from having a supply of personalized party napkins celebrating the event. As we said earlier, "It couldn't be easier".
